Doctor Phobia

Posted by Heather

I just had to add this in quickly about Brock. He has some serious issues with doctors. Yesterday we took all 3 to see the doctor and Brock was fine the entire time until she – the doctor came into the room. All she needed to do was check his ears, nose, throat and listen to his chest. Things were getting pretty hairy by the time his ears needed to be checked. I was trying so hard not to laugh (sorry Brockie!!) as I watched Steve and the Doctor attempt to wrestle with Brock. He has the ability to flip-flop his body all over the place like a fish just being pulled out of the water. He must have some strong core muscles!! Anyway, when it was all done and Brock was standing at the door saying, “bye-bye” repeatedly, he looked up at the doctor with a long and serious glare (ha ha ha ha – I am laughing again just picturing it). They were looking eye to eye like on an Old West cowboy stand-off. Except the doctor was looking sorrowfully at Brock. And when Brock realized his stare wasn’t going to make the doctor disappear, he closed his eye as tight as they would go and squished up his face. He does this when he just simply wants everything to disappear. When he opened his eyes and saw he was still there, he started to cry again. Ohhhhhh poor little Brockie!! The doctor said, “Wow, that was some stare!! My 16 year old daughter would have told me that I had been dissed by that stare!”. Ha ha ha – too funny! What is hilarious is that all the while, little Aussie is just sitting there calmly while the doctor is doing her thing on him. It is so funny just how different these guys are! This picture doesn’t really do it justice, but this was taken a while ago at another doctor appt. while we were in the waiting room. Brockie kept snuggling into me and closing his eyes in many attempts to make his surroundings disappear. What a cute little kid!! I pray he gets over this phobia soon!
